	GLOBAL REACH / LOCAL "FEEL" RGN is a U.S- based organization. Our operating board and advisory committee originally came from different countries and are motivated by genuine concern for the plight of needy people in the Commonwealth of Independent States. However our CIS partners are saturated daily with the tactical demands of serving their clients. RGN can bring the advantages of both perspectives to this process, thus contributing to our overall success -- we can raise money AND understand exactly where to spend it to have the maximum effect for our clients. YOUR DOLLARS HAVE GREATER POWER RGN focuses on providing critical assistance to individuals in the countries of the former Soviet Union. The value of $1.00 (as measured in its ability to buy basic food or provide public transportation) is much greater than other developed countries. $1 buys 2 pounds of meat. Average monthly pension (if paid!) is around $18. Monthly aid for a disabled child is $8. Your dollars go a long way when you donate them to RGN. YOUR MONEY IS USED RESPONSIBLY AND CAREFULLY RGN works exclusively though non-governmental partners "on the ground" in the countries of the former Soviet Union to help people in acute need. We have personal relationsips with our philanthropic partners, (Committee for Civic Assistance and "Save the Children"). Through a series of interlocking contracts, incremental funding steps, and bank- to- bank tax- free fund transfers, we assure that our partner organizations dispense funds according to our guidelines, and to recipients that meet our criteria. Further, we avoid excessive fees and taxes through special bank accounts set up in Russia for non-profit agencies. MAXIMUM ASSISTANCE / MINIMUM OVERHEAD Unlike other organizations, we have no paid staff, and use inexpensive methods of fundraising and communication. We strive to spend less than 5% of our donations on administrative expenses. Ninety-five percent of every dollar goes directly to our clients. (Our in- country partners are prohibited for using any RGN funds for administrative overhead) YOU CAN DEDUCT YOUR CONTRIBUTION RGN has obtained 501 C3 status from the IRS, an agency of the US Government. This means that US taxpayers, and organizations that pay US taxes, can deduct the dollar amount of their RGN contributions from their taxable income. In return for this status, RGN must agree to a level of financial reporting and oversight that is greater than non-profits without this status. This provides an additional level of assurance and financial visibility to our contributors.
